Why might deposits for certain assets be unavailable, and how does this affect existing holdings?

Why deposits for some crypto assets may be temporarily or permanently unavailable on Coinstash, and why your existing holdings of that asset aren't affected.

Deposits for specific assets on Coinstash may occasionally be unavailable. This article explains why that happens and what it means for any of that asset you already hold.

How deposits work

Deposits allow you to transfer assets from external wallets or platforms into your Coinstash account. However, there are times when deposits for certain assets may be temporarily or permanently disabled.

Why deposits for an asset might be unavailable

Deposits for specific assets may be disabled for the following reasons:

  1. Wallet provider limitations: The third-party infrastructure used to support deposits for a particular asset may not be available or functional.

  2. Liquidity availability: Insufficient market depth or liquidity may make it challenging to reliably support deposits and trading for the asset.

  3. Exchange support: The asset may lack necessary integration or support across partner exchanges or services.

These are platform-level considerations and do not indicate any issue with your personal holdings.

What it means for your existing holdings

If deposits for a specific asset are disabled, it does not affect the assets already in your Coinstash account. You can still:

  • Hold the asset in your account

  • Trade the asset, subject to market availability

  • Sell the asset

  • Withdraw the asset to an external wallet

Your existing holdings remain accessible and manageable.

⚠️ Before you send crypto to Coinstash

Always start your deposit from the Coinstash deposit screen and confirm the asset and network are available before sending anything from another wallet or exchange. If you've already sent an asset and it hasn't arrived, contact our support team with the transaction hash (TXID). See How to find your Transaction Hash (TXID).

FAQ

Can I deposit other assets if one asset's deposits are disabled? Yes. The unavailability of deposits for one asset does not affect deposits for other supported assets.

Will I be notified if deposits for an asset are re-enabled? Coinstash typically provides updates through notifications or announcements when deposit functionality for an asset is restored.

I can't find my coin on the deposit screen. See Troubleshooting "No Coins Found" During Crypto Deposits.
