How to Make a Manual Crypto Deposit

Some coins on Coinstash use a manual 3-step deposit flow. Learn how to enter your deposit details, send within the 1-hour address window, and submit your Transaction Hash (TXID).

Most crypto deposits on Coinstash are credited automatically, but some assets use a manual deposit process so our team can correctly identify your transfer and credit it to your account. This guide walks you through each screen of the manual flow and explains what happens after you submit.

How do I know if my deposit is manual?

You'll find out as soon as you select your coin. If the app shows a 3-step process and asks for a Transaction Hash (TXID), you're using the manual flow.

Before you start

  • Account tier: Your account must be at least Tier 1 to deposit crypto. See What are Account Verification Tiers?

  • Have your sending wallet or exchange open: The deposit address you'll be given is only valid for 1 hour, so be ready to send straight away.

  • Know the exact amount: You'll need to enter the exact amount you're going to send, and then send exactly that amount.

  • Know how to find your TXID: You'll need to copy it from the platform you send from. See How to find your Transaction Hash (TXID).

Step-by-step: making a manual deposit

Start your deposit

  1. Log in to Coinstash and tap Deposit.

  2. Select Crypto.

  3. Choose the cryptocurrency you want to deposit (for example, APT or KAS).

Step 1 of 3 – Enter deposit details

Here you're telling our system what to look out for:

  • Network: Select the correct blockchain network. It must match the network you'll send on.

  • Amount: Enter the exact amount you intend to send.

  • From address (optional): You can add the address you're sending from. This helps our team identify your transfer faster.

Step 2 of 3 – Wallet address allocation

A unique deposit address (and a memo/tag if the coin requires one) will be generated for you.

  • Time limit: This address is valid for 1 hour.

  • Send the funds: From your external wallet or exchange, transfer the exact amount you entered in Step 1 to this address. Copy and paste the address and include the memo/tag if one is shown.

  • Keep this screen open: Don't close it until you've sent the funds and copied your Transaction Hash (TXID).

Step 3 of 3 – Submit your Transaction Hash

Once you've sent the crypto:

  1. Copy the Transaction Hash (TX Hash / TXID) from the wallet or exchange you sent from.

  2. Paste it into the field on the Coinstash screen.

  3. Tap Submit.

Why this matters: the TXID is how we match the movement on the blockchain to your Coinstash account. Without it, we can't credit a manual deposit.

✅ What happens next

  • Pending: Your deposit will show as Pending in your Transaction History.

  • Review time: Our team manually finalises these deposits, typically within 1 hour during operational hours (9 am – 11 pm AEST).

  • Notification: You'll receive an update once the transaction is confirmed and the funds are in your balance.

  • Travel Rule: You may also be asked to confirm where the deposit came from. See Understanding the Travel Rule.

⚠️ Important

  • Never send to an expired address. If the 1-hour window has passed, start again to get a fresh address.

  • Use the right network. Sending on the wrong network can mean your funds are permanently lost.

  • Include the memo/tag if one is shown, or your deposit may not be matched to your account.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

What happens if I send the wrong amount? If the amount sent on-chain doesn't match what you entered in Step 1, the deposit may be delayed. Contact our support team with your TXID if this happens.

What if the address expires before I send the funds? Simply restart the process to generate a fresh address. Do not send funds to an expired address.

Where do I find my Transaction Hash? It's usually in the "Activity" or "Transaction History" section of the wallet or exchange you sent from. See How to find your TXID.

I closed the screen before submitting my TXID. Contact our support team with the TXID, the coin, the amount and the network you used, and we'll help match it.

Need a hand? Our Brisbane-based support team is here to help — tap the chat icon in the app or on the website to get in touch. We're happy to walk you through your first manual deposit.
