Saving the wallet addresses you send to often makes future crypto withdrawals faster and reduces the risk of errors. This guide shows you how to save an address while you send, and what to check first.
Before you start
Account tier: You must be at least Tier 2 to send cryptocurrency to an external wallet. If you've recently joined, there's a 7-day period before you reach Tier 2. During this time you can still sell your crypto and withdraw AUD to your bank account, but sending to external wallets is restricted for security and compliance. See What are Account Verification Tiers?
The address and network: Copy the receiving address from the wallet you want to save, and check which network it supports.
Only save addresses you trust: ideally your own wallets, or ones you've confirmed directly with the recipient.
Step-by-step: saving a wallet address
Step 1 – Start a crypto withdrawal
Desktop website: Click Withdraw > Crypto > Next.
Mobile app / mobile website: Tap your Profile Icon > Withdraw Crypto.
Step 2 – Select your asset
Search for and select the cryptocurrency you want to send.
Step 3 – Choose a new address
You'll be asked to choose between a saved address or a new one. Select New Wallet Address.
Step 4 – Choose the network
Select the correct blockchain network (for example ERC-20, BTC or Solana). It must match the network supported by the receiving wallet.
Step 5 – Enter the address
Paste the destination wallet address. Check the first and last few characters match the original.
Step 6 – Turn on "Save this wallet address"
Switch on the Save this wallet address toggle. You can usually give it a nickname (like "My Ledger" or "MetaMask") so it's easy to find next time.
Step 7 – Finish your withdrawal
Complete the remaining steps, including the recipient details required under the Travel Rule. See How to Withdraw Cryptocurrency from Coinstash for the full walkthrough.
Next time you withdraw that coin, choose the saved address instead of entering a new one.
⚠️ Important safety reminders
Blockchain transactions are irreversible, so keep these rules in mind:
Check the network. The network you select on Coinstash must match the network supported by your receiving wallet. Sending on the wrong network may result in permanent loss.
Copy and paste only. Never type out a wallet address by hand. Addresses are long, case-sensitive and complex. Always copy and paste or scan a QR code.
Watch for address-swapping malware. Some malware replaces a copied address with a scammer's address. Always compare the first and last characters before saving.
Don't save an address someone pressures you to use. Coinstash staff will never ask you to move your crypto. Learn how to spot a scam.
Troubleshooting
My hardware wallet now shows a different address. That's normal for Bitcoin and similar coins — your saved address still works. See Why Your Wallet Address Changes.
I want to remove a saved address. See How to Delete a Saved Wallet Address.
I can't send to external wallets yet. Check that your account has reached Tier 2.
