When you withdraw cryptocurrency to an external wallet, a network fee (often called a "gas fee") applies. This guide shows you how to see the exact fee before you commit, and explains why fees go up and down.
What is a network fee?
Network fees are not kept by Coinstash. They're paid to the blockchain's miners or validators to process your transaction. Because fees fluctuate based on how busy the blockchain is, the fee is shown to you at the time of the transaction.
How to check the live fee during a withdrawal
A full list of fees isn't currently viewable in a single menu within the mobile app, but you can see the exact fee for any coin before you confirm:
Step 1 – Start a crypto withdrawal
Tap Withdraw and select Crypto. (You can also start from your Portfolio by selecting the coin and tapping Withdraw.)
Step 2 – Enter the details
Choose the coin you want to withdraw, then enter the destination address and amount, and complete the recipient details you're asked for.
Step 3 – Review the fee
On the Review or Preview screen, you'll see a clear breakdown of the Network Fee and the final amount the recipient will receive.
Step 4 – Confirm, or go back
The fee is only deducted if you tap Confirm. If you're not happy with the fee, you can leave the screen without sending anything.

💡 Why do fees change?
Network congestion: If many people are using a network (like Ethereum) at the same time, fees rise.
Asset type: Sending a simple Bitcoin transaction usually costs a different amount to moving a complex DeFi token.
Speed: Coinstash estimates these fees so your transaction is processed by the network in a timely manner.
Network choice: Some coins can be sent on more than one network, and each network has its own fees. Only choose a network the receiving wallet supports.
⚠️ Important
Choosing a cheaper network isn't worth the risk if the receiving wallet doesn't support it. Sending on the wrong network can mean your funds are permanently lost.
Network fees aren't refundable once a transaction is sent, because they're paid to the blockchain.
FAQs
Why is the fee higher than last time? The network is probably busier. Fees change with network demand.
Does Coinstash charge a separate fee to withdraw crypto? The network fee shown on the Review screen is paid to the blockchain, not to Coinstash. Check the Review screen for the full breakdown before you confirm.
