How to Connect to a Client

The two ways advisers can connect to a client in the Coinstash Adviser Portal: being invited by an existing client, or inviting a new client to join Coinstash.

There are two ways to connect to a client's account in the Coinstash Adviser Portal. This guide explains both, so you can choose the one that fits your client.

Both options are secure, and both give you the same view-only access once the connection is established.

Option 1: Be invited by a client

If your client already has a Coinstash account, they can invite you directly from their dashboard. This is the simplest way to connect.

Here's how it works

  1. Your client logs in to their Coinstash account.

  2. They go to Settings > Adviser Access.

  3. They enter your name and email, then click Invite.

  4. You'll receive an email with a link to accept the invitation. See How to Accept a Client Invitation.

  5. Once accepted, the client will appear in your Adviser Portal dashboard.

💡 Tip: Send your client our step-by-step guide, How do I invite my accountant or financial advisor?

Option 2: Invite the client to Coinstash

If your client isn't on Coinstash yet, you can invite them to set up their account from the Adviser Portal.

Here's how it works

  1. Log in to your Adviser Portal.

  2. In the top right, click Send Invite.

  3. Enter your client's name and email.

  4. Your client receives an invitation to join Coinstash and set up their account (individual, company, trust or SMSF). For SMSFs, see How to Open Your Coinstash SMSF Account.

  5. After they've created their account, ask them to invite you via Settings > Adviser Access (as in Option 1).

⚠️ Inviting a client to join Coinstash doesn't connect you automatically. Your client still needs to invite you from their account once it's set up.

🎁 When your client signs up through your invitation, they'll receive a bonus of up to $200 to kickstart their account (eligibility and terms apply).

What access will I have?

Once connected to their account, you'll get:

  • View-only access to their portfolio

  • Downloadable EOFY and audit reports

  • Real-time visibility of transactions and holdings

You will not be able to trade or move funds. Your access is strictly read-only for compliance and security. See View-Only Access Explained.

Troubleshooting

My client signed up but doesn't appear in my dashboard. If you used Option 2, your client still needs to invite you via Settings > Adviser Access. Once they do, accept the invitation from your email.

My client can't find the Adviser Access section. Point them to this guide, or ask them to contact our support team.

I no longer need access to a client. See How to Disconnect from a Client.
