Understanding STASH Points & Coinstash Rewards

STASH Points are the core of the Coinstash Rewards program—Australia's only dedicated crypto loyalty ecosystem.

STASH Points are the loyalty points at the heart of Coinstash Rewards. This guide explains the three ways to earn them, how to spend them, and the one rule you need to know to stop them expiring.

Before you start

  • Open Rewards once: Rewards is available in the mobile app and on the desktop website. The first time you open the Rewards section you'll be asked to activate it. See Coinstash Rewards on Desktop.

  • Account type: SMSF accounts can't currently take part in the STASH Point ecosystem.

How to Earn STASH Points

There are three primary ways to build your STASH balance:

1. Trading Activity (STASH Back)

When you trade, you can choose to receive STASH Back instead of standard fee discounts.

  • Calculation: You earn a set amount of points based on your trading volume (e.g., 10 STASH for every $50 traded).

  • Membership Boost: Your Membership level determines your STASH Back rate. The higher your level, the more STASH you earn. See the full rate table in What is STASH Back?

  • Setup: Go to Memberships > Reward Preference (on the website via your Dashboard, in the app via the Profile Menu). Make sure STASH Back is selected. If Fee Discounts is active, you won't earn points on trades.

2. Loyalty Holding Rewards

Simply keeping eligible digital assets in your Coinstash account earns you points every week.

  • Weekly Payouts: Points are calculated daily and credited every Tuesday at 10:15 am AEST. Until then they show as pending.

  • Eligible Assets: Not all coins qualify. You can check the current list of eligible assets and their reward rates in the Rewards tab.

  • No Lockups: Unlike traditional staking, there are no lockup periods. You are free to trade or withdraw your assets at any time.

3. Promotions & Quests

Boost your balance by engaging with the Coinstash Rewards ecosystem:

  • Quests: Complete specific tasks or "missions" to earn bonus points.

  • Games: Use points to play the Wheel of Crypto, open Mystery Boxes, or enter Seasonal Prize Draws.

Each promotion has its own terms. See Coinstash Rewards Promotions – Terms & Conditions.

How to Redeem Your Points

Once you've accumulated enough STASH, head to the Rewards tab in the mobile app (or Rewards in the top navigation bar on the desktop website) to spend them:

  • Crypto Conversion: Convert STASH directly into selected cryptocurrencies.

  • Marketplace: Claim limited-edition Coinstash Merchandise.

  • Promotions: Purchase entries into high-value lucky draws (like our $2,000 Weekly Bitcoin Draw).

⚠️ Important: The Expiry Rule

STASH Points have a 6-month expiry if there is no account activity.

  • To prevent expiry: You must perform an eligible earning or redemption activity at least once every 6 months.

  • Eligible activities: Trading (with STASH Back enabled) or participating in a promotion/quest.

  • Note: Simply earning points through "Loyalty Holding Rewards" does not count as an active earning activity to reset the 6-month timer.

Other things to know: STASH Points have no cash value, can't be converted to cash and can't be transferred between accounts.

FAQ

I made a trade but didn't earn any STASH. Check your Reward Preference. If it's set to Fee Discounts, you receive a lower trade fee instead of STASH Points. Changing it only affects future trades.

My points are showing as "pending". Loyalty Holding Rewards build up daily and are credited each Tuesday. Pending points move into your balance once they're credited.

I hold lots of crypto. Will my points still expire? They can. Holding rewards don't reset the 6-month timer, so make sure you trade with STASH Back on, join a promotion, or redeem some points at least once every 6 months.
