You can add Australian dollars (AUD) to your Coinstash account instantly using a debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. This guide walks you through a card deposit in the Coinstash app and explains the fee, limits and requirements.
Before you start
A card in your own name: The card must be in the same name as your Coinstash account.
Account tier: Your account must be at least Tier 1 verified to deposit AUD. See What are Account Verification Tiers?
Amount: The minimum card deposit is $200 AUD and the daily card deposit limit is $5,000 AUD (excluding fees).
The fee: Card deposits have a 1.37% processing fee charged by the card processor. PayID and bank transfer deposits are free.
How to make a card deposit
Step 1 – Tap Deposit
Open the Coinstash app and tap Deposit.
Step 2 – Choose Deposit AUD, then Card deposit
Select Deposit AUD, then choose Card deposit.
Step 3 – Enter the amount
Enter the amount you'd like to deposit (minimum $200).
Step 4 – Choose your card
Add a new card or select a saved card, then tap Continue.
Step 5 – Complete the payment
Complete the payment. Some banks may ask you to authorise the transaction, for example in your banking app.
Step 6 – Check your balance
In most cases, your funds appear in your Coinstash balance instantly.

The card you use must be in the same name as your Coinstash account. Deposits from cards in a different name will not be accepted.
Only cards registered in your own name are accepted.
Your bank may charge additional fees for crypto-related card transactions.
Some banks block card payments to crypto exchanges. If your deposit fails, try a different card or use PayID or bank transfer instead.
The 1.37% processing fee is charged by the card processor and is not retained by Coinstash.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there a 1.37% fee?
Card deposits incur a processing fee charged by our payment provider, WorldPay. This fee is not kept by Coinstash. To avoid it, deposit via PayID or bank transfer, which are both free.
My card deposit was declined. What do I do?
Some banks block card payments to crypto exchanges. If your deposit is declined, contact your bank to authorise the transaction, or use PayID or bank transfer instead.
How long does a card deposit take?
Most card deposits appear in your Coinstash account instantly. In some cases, it may take up to 1 business day depending on your bank.
Can I use someone else's card?
No. All card deposits must be made from a card in the same name as your Coinstash account. Third-party card deposits will not be accepted.
