Information Requests

Coinstash is a fully registered digital currency exchange provider with AUSTRAC. Under law, Coinstash is required to provide information to a range of government agencies when requested.

The government agencies may request customer information for various reasons, including combating financial crime, protecting Commonwealth / State revenue and safeguarding national security.

Under Australian law, a request can be made by the form of warrant or court orders. However, there may be other ways in which a request can be put forward to Coinstash. We carefully check the validity of each request by obtaining independent legal advice as we value the privacy of our customers.

Information requests can include personal data such as name, address, phone number, date of birth, transaction history, wallet addresses and IP.

Lastly, we are prohibited under Australian legislation from providing details of specific request made by government agencies.
