How to Disconnect from a Client
If you no longer need access to a client’s SMSF account via the Adviser Portal, the disconnection from their account process is simple.
At present, disconnection needs to be initiated by the client. Advisers can't remove themselves directly, but clients can do so at any time via their account settings.
How to Request Disconnection
If you'd like to disconnect from a client’s account:
1. Reach out to the client and ask them to revoke your access.
Suggested message:
Hi [Client Name], if you’d like to remove my view-only access to your Coinstash SMSF account, you can do so by logging in, going to “Settings > Adviser Access,” and selecting “Revoke” next to my name.
2. Client revokes access by:
- Logging into their Coinstash account
- Navigating to
Settings > Adviser Access
- Clicking “Revoke” next to your name
3. Your access ends immediately
You’ll no longer see that client in your dashboard. Any portfolio data or reports incl integration with BGL will no longer be available to you.
Why It Works This Way
This approach ensures that client permissions are managed cleanly and consistently from their end - just like other shared-access platforms (e.g. Xero).
