Adviser Portal - View-Only Access Explained

When you’re connected to a client’s SMSF account through the Coinstash Adviser Portal, you are granted view-only access.

This means you can:

  • See your client's current crypto holdings
  • Browse past transactions (including deposits, trades, and withdrawal events)
  • Download EOFY, audit, and transaction reports
  • Access export-ready data for tools like BGL, Koinly, Syla and CTC

But you cannot:

  • Place trades
  • Move funds or assets
  • Access or manage security settings
  • Perform any action that affects the client’s portfolio

Why View-Only?

View-only access ensures:

  • SMSF compliance: Clients stay in control while giving their accountant or adviser visibility.
  • Client safety: You can support without having control or custody over assets.
  • Visibility: You get the transparency you need to monitor crypto activity, identify compliance issues early, and offer proactive guidance.

Can I Switch to Full Access?

No. The Adviser Portal is designed to provide visibility, not control.

This is intentional and important for SMSF compliance.

If your client wants help making investment decisions, they should speak with a licensed financial adviser. You can continue to provide record-keeping, tax, and compliance support using the view-only features.

What Can I See?

Once you’re linked to a client, you'll have access to:

Section

What’s Visible

Holdings

Live crypto balances and current values

Transactions

Full ledger of buys, sells, swaps, deposits, withdrawals and other transactions

Reports

Audit ready reports including 30 June statements, transaction exports, cash statements and trade summaries

Who Else Can See This?

Only you (as the adviser) and the trustee/client have access to the SMSF portfolio.

Coinstash staff cannot access accounts and trading activity without permission from the trustee/client.
